(published, 21 July 1935, in The State newspaper of Columbia, S.C.); and petition, signed, 1935-1936, by individuals representing various libraries around Columbia, "from whom Earl Fulmer has purloined books and other material," agreeing to accept return of materials as an acceptable resolution of the incident, following notification "of everyone who has been victimized in this matter...." Two later newspaper clippings report that Fulmer would promote establishment of Optimist Clubs (9 Oct. 1948, in Columbia Record); and establishment of an accounting firm in Columbia (1 Jan. 1950, in The State newspaper).
